No ‘Sadhana’ Complete Without Self-Discipline: Yogi Adityanath Message to Kanwariyas
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, stated on Monday that extensive preparations have been undertaken in association with the Kanwar Yatra Center and emphasized the necessity of self-discipline on the part of kanwaryias to ensure the event’s successful completion. In addition to enjoying the “yatra,” he advised the followers to practice self-control and hold fast to their beliefs in order to help make it a success.
Without self-discipline, no festival, celebration, or “sadhana” is complete. We need to devote ourselves externally as well as internally to make sure the trip goes smoothly and safely. Speaking to media at his home, he declared, “Shivo Bhutva Shivam Yajet” (to adore Lord Shiva, first become Shiva). In a statement released by his office later, he was also cited as stating as much. Although the Chief Minister did not elaborate, there have been a few isolated incidents of violence among kanwariyas since the yatra began on July 22. The last day is August 6.
“The Kanwar Yatra, held in the month of Shravan, is widely recognized globally. According to a statement issued here, the Chief Minister said that during this period, followers of Shiva from all over the country, particularly North India, perform “Jalabhishek” at Shiva temples as a sign of their devotion and participate in elaborate Mahadevi ceremonies.
According to Yogi, detailed plans have been made by the federal and state governments to ensure a secure and well-organized Kanwar Yatra. “To prevent any problems, chaos, or playing with faith, measures have been put in place, including enhanced patrolling, cleanliness measures, and health camps,” he continued.

The chief minister said, “Arrangements have also been made for flower showers and drone and helicopter surveillance as needed.” In order to perform “Jalabhishek” of Shivlings, a great number of devotees travel from various regions during the Hindu holy month of Shravan with “kanwars,” which carry holy water from the Ganga.
