Virat Kohli Sets Record for Most Sixes with RCB, Surpasses Gayle and Overtakes MS Dhoni in Overall IPL List

Virat Kohli added another feather to his crown as he played undefeated at 83 in Friday’s IPL 2024 match against Kolkata Knight Riders.Virat Kohli gave a batting masterclass on Friday when batting for Bengaluru against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The renowned player for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru hammered the bowlers all around the mark, concluding his innings at an undefeated 83 in 59 balls. He had four fours and as many sixes to his credit.

While he was knocking, Kohli passed former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni of the Chennai Super Kings in the record book for the most sixes in the competition’s history. In the IPL, Dhoni was placed fourth with 240 sixes; however, after hitting four maximums in his innings, Kohli is currently ranked fourth with 241 sixes.

Being the RCB player with the most sixes in the team’s history, Kohli also created history. He did it before Gayle did; since the league’s inception in 2008, Kohli is the only player to have represented just one team, which means that all 241 of his sixes have come for the RCB.
