Sachin Tendulkar’s Heartfelt Message as Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Welcome Baby Akaay
The birth of their second child, Akaay, was announced by former India captain Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma on Tuesday. Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the couple on X (previously Twitter) in a heartfelt message that he wrote after the major news on social media. On their own social media accounts, Kohli and Anushka welcomed Vamika’s “little brother,” Akaay, and asked for privacy for the time being. “We are happy to announce to everyone that on February 15th, we welcomed our baby boy, Akaay and Vamika’s younger brother, into the world with all of our love and happiness! We pray for your blessings and well wishes during this beautiful time in our lives. At this moment, we humbly ask that you respect our privacy. Gratitude and love. It said, “Virat & Anushka” on Instagram.
Following the game, former Indian cricketer Tendulkar took to X to congratulate Kohli and Anushka on their “precious addition” to their elegant family. “Happy birth of Akaay, a priceless addition to your lovely family, Virat and Anushka!” he tweeted. May he bring you boundless happiness and laughter, just as his name brightens any space. I hope you have a lifetime of unforgettable experiences and memories. Oh, little champion, welcome to the world!” Following their 2017 wedding, Kohli and Anushka welcomed Vamika into the world in January 2021, marking their first childbirth.
Kohli took a break from cricket to be with Anushka when Vamika was born, as he was in the middle of an away series in Australia. After the 2020–21 series’ first Test match in Adelaide came to a close, the star Indian batsman took a plane home. Unlike this time, when they chose to withhold the news from the media, the pair back then had already made Anushka’s pregnancy known before Kohli’s Australian tour.

Thus, the “personal reason” for Kohli’s absence from the five-match England Test series at home is revealed in his article. He traveled to Hyderabad for the first game and was originally included in the 17-man roster for the first two games before withdrawing with the excuse that “certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention.” He was not available for the final three matches against Ben Stokes and his team, even though it was thought that he would return. Since making his Test debut in 2011, this was the first occasion that Kohli had ever missed a home series.
