Vijay Sethupathi Thanks Kerala Audience for Success of ‘Maharaja’

Actor Vijay Sethupathi’s most recent appearance was in the Nithilan Swaminathan-directed movie “Maharaja.” In just eight days, the film has garnered critical acclaim and made over Rs 50 crore at the box office. The film has been playing in theaters in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Kerala with great success since its release on June 14.

Vijay Sethupathi met with the media at the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club after the success meet in Hyderabad, where he expressed gratitude to the Kerala audience for their support. The actor stated that he had only appeared in 50 films despite having read over 500 screenplays, in an interview with a Malayalam news channel. He said the amount of work he puts in is the same regardless of the team, budget, or genre of the movie.

The actor conveyed his gratitude to the Kerala film audience for contributing to the enormous success of “Maharaja.” With over 175 theaters showing the film in its second week, it continues to play to packed houses in Kerala, where it was well welcomed.

“Maharaja” is a suspense thriller with Ajaneesh Loknath’s music, and leading performances by Vijay Sethupathi, Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natarajan Subramaniam. Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film in his career is this one. He told the media that the project’s captivating narrative flow was the reason he choose it.
