Vettaiyan OTT Release: Will Rajinikanth’s Film Premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 7?

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film, Vettaiyan (Hunter), has made a faltering ₹250 crore in the cinematic world since its October 10 delivery. There is a ton of guess via virtual entertainment in regards to the film’s OTT debut on Amazon Prime Video, as most would consider to be normal to occur on November 7, not long after Diwali. We’re still waiting on official confirmation, though.

According to Ramesh Bala, a trade analyst, “99% of Tamil films usually reach OTT platforms four weeks after their theatrical debut, and Vettaiyan was released on October 10,” Bala told Hindustan Times. Vettaiyan does not have the customary eight-week OTT delay because it is not being shown in Hindi multiplexes. Although November 7 looks likely, an official announcement will most likely be made closer to the day. Amazon Prime Video has the streaming rights.

About Vettaiyan

As per reports, Amazon Prime Video paid ₹90 crores for Vettaiyan’s multilingual OTT rights. Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Dushara Vijayan, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Ritika Singh, and Rana Daggubati are among the outfit projected individuals from the movie, which was directed by TJ Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame. The film, which was produced by Lyca Productions on a huge ₹300 crore budget, hasn’t yet fully matched its ambitious production scale at the box office.

The 4-Week Window and Fan Anticipation

Vettaiyan is still showing in theaters, and neither Lyca Productions nor Amazon Prime have indicated that it will be available on streaming services. As the movie gets closer to the customary four-week post-theater streaming period, many fans are looking forward to its November 7 release.

Director’s Interest in a Prequel

A Vettaiyan prequel that centers on Rajinikanth’s character Athiyan’s journey has lately piqued the curiosity of director TJ Gnanavel. “I think it would be fascinating to delve into Athiyan’s past and give the story more nuance,” Gnanavel said. “What seems simple often has deeper implications,” he continued, “and the film tackles the ethical complexities of encounter killings.”
