US Citizen Shot at His Home in Amritsar, Punjab; Attack Captured on CCTV

A shocking incident took place in Punjab’s Amritsar district Saturday morning when a US citizen, Sukhchain Singh, was shot by two assailants right at his residence in the village of Daburji. This whole attack was recorded by the CCTV cameras of his house and is since going viral on social media.

The shocking video footage shows two men, both wearing turbans, entering Singh’s house and firing three shots at him. He was shot in the head and neck. In the horrifying scene that unfolded, Singh’s mother and young son can be seen in the video pleading desperately for mercy from the attackers. Neither did they spare him after their cries. Singh was left critically injured.

Singh was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. However, the exact status of his condition has not yet been released. Local police have launched an investigation and assured the public that the perpetrators will be apprehended soon.

There has been outrage over the incident all across; Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Badal, Sukhbir Singh Badal, came out against the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. Sharing the video on social media, Badal said he was “deeply saddened and concerned” about the development and squarely blamed Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for growing incidents of violence in the state. He further sought CM Mann’s resignation on moral grounds over fast-deteriorating safety of citizens of Punjab.

Badal finally concluded the statement with prayers for Sukhchain Singh’s recovery and emphasized the dire need for better security measures in Punjab.
