A double-decker sleeper bus collided with a vehicle near Toli hamlet of Thana Sikandrarao in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras on Thursday morning, resulting in at least two fatalities and sixteen injuries, according to district magistrate Ashish Kumar. This tragedy occurs one day after another similar one in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, where a double-decker sleeper bus bound for Delhi collided with a milk truck on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway, resulting in eighteen fatalities and nineteen injuries. Near Jojikot hamlet in the Behta Mujhawar police station area, the accident happened at around five in the morning.
According to district magistrate Gaurang Rathi, the bus, which was traveling from Motihari in Bihar, appeared to be speeding when it struck the milk tanker from behind. He added an investigation has been started into the situation. According to Rathi, a different bus carrying sixty people took twenty passengers who had minor injuries and sent them to Delhi. The disaster claimed the lives of 14 males, 3 women, and a child, Lucknow Additional Director General of Police SB Shiradkar told news agency.
The bus and milk tanker overturned as a result of the collision, according to Bangarmau Circle Officer (CO) Arvind Kumar. The two cars’ drivers were among the deceased. He claimed that after being taken to a hospital, the injured were declared to be in stable condition. Beside the overturned bus and milk truck on the roadway were glass shards and people’s belongings.After cranes got the two automobiles back on their wheels, they were taken away.

In the collision, the bus’s front was badly damaged, and one side was torn apart. 14 corpses had been identified, according to police earlier. They subsequently stated, though, that only 10 had been found thus far. An hour after the tragedy, authorities arrived at the scene of the accident, according to Chandni, another injured person. The bus held about sixty people. She expressed her gratitude to the local government for allowing her to video chat with her husband. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, said that officials have been told to make sure the injured receive the best care possible. A ₹2 lakh ex gratia has been announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the families of the deceased.
