Unwell Eknath Shinde to Make ‘Big Decision’ Today? Maharashtra CM Announcement Delayed

Shiv Sena leader Uday Samant has emphasized that caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is not as dissatisfied, as some had thought, amid mounting tension over the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Shinde, who has been suffering from a cold and fever, has gone to his hometown in the Satara region to recuperate, according to Samant, who denied any allegations that his departure was due to political discontent.

Following the cancellation of a pivotal meeting of Maharashtra’s ruling partners, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which was originally planned to discuss government formation, Samant made his remark on Friday. A week following the results of the state assembly election, Shinde’s absence—which was ascribed to his health problems—delayed the matter’s development.

According to Sanjay Shirsat, another Shiv Sena leader, Shinde is anticipated to make a significant political move in the next day. He further expressed that Shinde doesn’t mean to join the Union government and is focusing on legislative issues in Maharashtra. Shirsat said that a promise-taking function is set for December 2 at which State Leader Narendra Modi and Association Home Pastor Amit Shah will pick the next chief minister of Maharashtra.

In response to a question concerning the postponed meeting between Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, and NCP member Ajit Pawar, Samant said that if a face-to-face meeting is not feasible, then such discussions might still take place online. He reaffirmed that Shinde was only visiting his hometown for medical reasons and underlined that it is normal for people to take time off when they are unwell.

According to Shirsat, the new government would be formed once the BJP names the next legislative wing head within the next two days. In a jab at the opposition, he said that instead of criticizing the government formation process, the Maha Vikas Aghadi should consider its electoral results. All eyes are on Shinde’s expected decision by Saturday night as the political drama plays out.
