Assam woman detained after allegedly killing her mother-in-law during a fight
According to the police, the occurrence took place on Wednesday. The charged, recognized as Afsana Begum, beat her mother-in-law, Joytun Nessa, with a wooden piece over a contention that broke out between the two after the last mentioned attempt to stop her from beating her kids, police said, alluding to the complaint recorded by the family members.
Police said that Nessa was taken to a neighbourhood healing centre by her child, where she surrendered to her wounds on Thursday. According to the articulation from the family members, Begum was irate with her kids over their refusal to go to the mosque for prayers.
“She was beating them with a stick when her mother-in-law’s impedance increased, and they got included in an argument,” said one of the family members. After a heated argument, Begum assaulted Nessa with a bit of wood, and she fell oblivious.

“She was severely harmed when her child took her to an adjacent clinic, and she kicked the bucket the following day,” the family members said. Police said that Begum departed suddenly after the occurrence, and her spouse recorded a first information report at the Patharkandi police station on Thursday. After the FIR, the police swung into action and captured Begum from a house adjacent to the area. Begum has been booked beneath 302 (kill) and a few other segments of the Indian Corrective Code. She was created some time ago in court on Friday evening. Police said Nessa’s dead body has been sent to Karimganj Gracious Clinic for an autopsy. The police have too recorded explanations of Begum’s kids and the husband. “We are investigating the matter further, and we are interrogating Afsana,” an officer said.
