Triptii Dimri Responds to Criticism Over Mere Mehboob Dance: ‘Experimenting Won’t Stop Me’
Social media users are reacting strongly to Triptii Dimri’s sensuous dance performance in the song Mere Mehboob, calling the choreography “cringe” and “embarrassing.” The star acknowledged that she hadn’t anticipated such a harsh response from the crowd in her initial statement regarding the outrage.
The choreography for the song, which made its debut on September 23, has generated controversy. Triptii responded to the criticism in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, focusing in especially on the awkward hook step that many viewers found.
When asked if she was uncomfortable doing the step while it was being filmed, she said, “Not really… I’m trying to experiment with different things as an actor. I used to think that acting was the only skill required to be an actor. But as things went on, I came to understand that you should be able to carry yourself when you’re offered a job, and you should be able to execute a dance number properly. I must thus attempt everything. Even though I may not be skilled in every endeavor, why not give it a shot? You must put your all into it.”
Animal star Triptii mentioned that Mere Mehboob was her debut dance performance and she wasn’t prepared for the level of response it got. She did concede, though, that criticism is a part of the business.
It is a universal experience. You shouldn’t give up on your passions or stop attempting new things just because some people won’t always find enjoyment in what you do. You cannot let the views of others to limit you. If you start worrying about how people will react, you won’t be honest in your work,” she added.
