Tanushree Dutta Criticizes Hema Committee Report, Labels Nana Patekar and Dileep as ‘Narcissistic Psychopaths’
Tanushree Dutta, who has been vocal about sexual harassment in the Hindi film industry, reacted to the Justice K Hema Committee report on the same problem in the Malayalam filim industry. Speaking to News 18 in an interview, Tanushree termed the report as “useless” and also expressed her disillusionment with the Vishakha Committee, earlier known as Women’s Grievances Committee, for preventing harassment of women at workplaces.
Tanushree Dutta Slams Hema Committee Report
Reacting to the findings of the Hema Committee, Tanushree says, “What’s the point of this new report anyway? All they needed to do was arrest the accused and enforce a strong law and order system. I remember the Vishakha Committee coming up with a lot of guidelines and extensive reports, but what changed? The committee names just keep evolving.”
She went on to say, “People like Nana Patekar and Dileep are narcissistic psychopaths. There’s no cure for them. Not a normal, reasonable man but only a vicious and vengeful man can do what they did. I don’t care about these committees; I have no trust in the system. It feels like with these reports and committees, they are all wasting our time rather than doing something productive within this system. Maintaining a safe workplace is a fundamental right for every woman—or any human being, for that matter.”

Nana Patekar allegations made by Tanushree. Tanushree made headlines once in 2008 when she claimed that Nana Patekar had harassed her sexually while she was filming “Horn Ok Please.” Nana Patekar refuted actress Tanushree’s claims, but political backlash and criticism from a number of individuals connected to the Indian film business followed. In 2018, during the MeToo India movement, Tanushree again drew attention to the incident and how it affected her career once she spoke up about the harassment.
