Karan Torani’s latest collection is Leela: The Divine Illusion of Love, and Tamannaah Bhatia gets you mesmerized by it. This beautiful collection, with a combination of traditional and attractive designs, is based on one of the greatest tales of unconditional love—finally exemplified by the divine romance of Radha and Krishna.
An ode to the timeless love of Radha and Krishna, the Leela collection from Karan Torani tells a tale: one of devotion, faith, and beauty. Sumptuous textiles, opulent colors, and intricate craftsmanship give body to timeless Indian festive wear. On his Instagram, Karan Torani mentioned that Leela stands for his conception of the rasa Radha and Krishna represent; a love which transcends; a love which makes love prime over the universe.
Tamannaah, in the character of Radha, shared how she could relate so much with the role through her Instagram page.
“There were times when I felt a transcendent connection while embodying Radha, and a divine force seemed to be behind it all. This divinity is evident in the campaign’s visuals, thanks to the person behind it all, @karantorani. Truly, he is a genius in creativity; more than that, he is one of the most talented young designers I have ever worked with,” she shared.
Following Janmashtami, here is a collection of five exquisite styles from the Leela collection that will radiate on one’s personality with a hint of divinity like Radha:
Jewel-Toned Lehenga: Made from luscious organza and jeni silk, the lehenga comes with a Gulkhaira Srisa choli and is adorned with sucha zardorz, dabka, and doria embroidery. The look has been styled with two unique odhnis based on Rajwada traditions.
Regal Purple Lehenga: Made in the finest quality raw silk, zardozi with dabka and dori work teams together to bring about a royal effect in this purple lehenga. Teamed up with an adorned magenta blouse and styled with two odhnis in perfect shades of purple and aqua blue, there is royalty coming out of this piece.
Ivory Embroidered Lehenga: Pearl and doria hand-embroidered on a canvas of pure ivory, the lehenga has the Kumuda Birajini choli containing hand embellished organza 3D florals. The scalloped soft pink odhni is created in sheer tulle and is absolutely distinguished with doria and sequins, adding that touch of delicacy.
