Sunita Ahuja Reacts to Varun Dhawan Being Compared to Govinda: ‘He Must Feel Bad Too’

Sunita Ahuja, the wife of veteran actor Govinda, recently addressed the ongoing similarities between her son Varun Dhawan and her husband. Comparing Varun to Salman Khan and Govinda will demoralize him, Sunita said in an interview with Hindi Rush, adding that she was perplexed by the parallels.

Sunita Ahuja on Varun and Govinda Comparisons

“Bolte hain, compare karte hain, but kyun bolte hain mereko ye samajh me nahi aata hai,” Sunita added when discussing the parallels. However, I don’t get why people compare Varun to Govinda. Usko bhi toh kharaab lagta hoga na k mujhey Salman (Khan) se comparison karte hain, Chi-Chi bhaiya se compare karte hain. When he is compared to Salman Khan and Chi-Chi bhaiya, he must also feel guilty.

Varun Dhawan’s Childhood and Influence

Varun grew up seeing Govinda collaborate on several movies with his father, director David Dhawan, Sunita said.
“Jo bachpan se jo aadmi, dekh dekh ki. Govinda ne uske dad ki 17-18 photos ki hai. Naturally, toh aa jaaega na thoda toh. Bachpan se chulbula bacha tha vo (He has watched 17–18 Govinda movie with his father). Of course, certain characteristics may be inherited. Since his early years, Varun has been a cheerful youngster,” Sunita said.

Govinda’s Iconic Film Collaborations

Bollywood legend Govinda last made an appearance in the comedy Rangeela Raja in 2019. His upcoming films include Len Den: It’s All About Business, Pinky Darling, and Baahe Haath Ka Khel. Classics like Coolie No. 1 (1995), Hero No. 1 (1997), and Partner (2007) are examples of Govinda’s fruitful partnerships with David Dhawan. They defined a period of humor and family entertainment by delivering many box office smashes together.
