‘Fateh’ Faces a Tough Start

Sonu Sood’s action-oriented thriller Fateh went on release much to expectations but has failed to generate impact at the box office. Despite an extensive promotional campaign and a Buy-One-Get-One (BOGO) ticket offer, the film managed to earn just ₹6.6 crore in its first three days.

The movie, which released on Friday, was set to attract a lot of people because of its appealing theme and Sonu Sood’s popularity. Yet, the box office has so far produced only a slight increase over the weekend, questioning its power to maintain its current momentum in the days to come.

Day-Wise Box Office Breakdown

Fateh started with low box office revenues of ₹2 crore on its opening day, and it proved to be a tough weekend. The amount of collections went up by a margin the next day, to a value of ₹2.3 crore. By Day 3 the film took ₹2.3 crore again, which cumulatively made ₹6.6 crore by the weekend’s end.

Audience Reception and Competition

Although Sonu Sood’s acting has been appreciated by his ardent followers, the film’s overall filmmaking has generated mixed response. Many critics noted that the narrative lacked the depth needed to leave a lasting impression.

Additionally, Fateh faced stiff competition from other releases, including blockbuster holdovers that dominated multiplexes and single screens alike. This competition has significantly impacted the film’s ability to draw audiences.

BOGO Offer Fails to Boost Sales

To attract a larger audience, producers of the movie “Fateh” offered a Buy-1-Get-1 offer on movie tickets. Although such proposals have successfully applied to the promotion of other movies before, it failed this time to produce the intended effect.

Trade analysts believe that the offer failed to make a significant impact because the film’s word-of-mouth publicity remained weak. Even at reduced prices, tickets weren’t able to attract high numbers of people due to the lack of strong reviews or audience excitement.

The Road Ahead for ‘Fateh’

Doubts about the weekday collections, Fateh is now in a doubly difficult situation to be able to recover production costs. Film makers are counting on sales of digital and satellite rights to offset the loss at the box office.

According to industry sources, Fateh requires a substantial turnaround in its second weekend in order to remain competitive. Yet, especially with newer releases on the horizon and audiences’ interests changing, the film’s prospect of achieving this appears to be faint.

Sonu Sood’s Response

In spite of Sonu Sood’s subpar market return, the man on the posters remains positive. Talking to the press, he remarked, “Every film is a pilgrimage, and I’m happy with what we’ve made with Fateh. It’s not just about the numbers; it’s about connecting with the audience.

Sood, who has become a household name for his humanitarian efforts during the pandemic, also thanked his fans for their unwavering support.

Future Prospects

Although Fateh may not have made box office hits, Sonu Sood’s fame and good will can still continue to hold him as a darling of Bollywood. Fans hope that future work would be able to use his talent more effectively and would yield a greater success.

Now that Fateh is in its first weekday schedule, the focus will be keen to see the extent of its success in the face of stiff competition and audience expectations.
