Terrorist Killed, Soldier Dies in Kupwara Encounter with Security Forces in J&K

An encounter between the Army and terrorists in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir early on Wednesday morning resulted in the deaths of a soldier and a terrorist.

In Kowut, Kupwara, the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army jointly initiated an operation. The troops were attacked on Wednesday by the militants. A soldier was hurt in the firefight, and one terrorist was eliminated. Nevertheless, the soldier passed away shortly after from his wounds. The Military’s Chinar Corps said in a statement on X that the counteroperations are presently in progress.

“On the days before July 23 and 24, the Indian Army and the JMUKmrPolice conducted a Joint Search Operation in response to specific information regarding the presence of terrorists in the Kowut, Kupwara, general region.

Terrorists launched randomly fired gunfire on July 24 after forces noticed suspicious activity and confronted them. One terrorist has been eliminated and an NCO has been hurt in the ensuing firefight. “The operation is underway,” it stated.

A soldier was hurt in a gunfight that resulted in his death, and earlier on Tuesday the Army stopped another terrorist attempt at infiltration in the Battal district.

In the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, security forces stopped two terrorist attacks on an Army station and a Village Defence Group (VDG) home, injuring one soldier and one civilian in the process.
