Shah Rukh Khan will be hosting IIFA 2024 at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, along with Karan Johar, but the two seemed pretty indifferent to their upcoming venture, as it was visible in the IIFA press conference.
The duo entertained the crowd with his tomfoolery as SRK jokingly pulled up Karan Johar for spending more time hosting events than making movies.
The superstar playfully told the media that Karan plans to rehearse for the show remotely. “Karan told me he won’t be rehearsing in person, he’ll do it on Zoom.
He said, ‘Bhai, main Zoom pe kar lunga… main itna jaldi karta hoon. Main toh itna hosting karta hoon na.’ He hosts chat shows, film events… but come on, my brother, make a movie too!

SRK’s quip sent Karan in splits along with the audience as he humorously added, “How much hosting will you do?”
Karan smiled and said, “Even Siddhant Chaturvedi said that, and I was like, ‘This sounds so wrong for a filmmaker. I really should be making more movies.’
Not all fun and banter, of course, as Shah Rukh also unveiled a new avatar at the event. Known by his long locks in recent films Pathaan and Jawan, the actor arrived with chopped hair.
Sporting his cap at the press conference, the eagle-eyed fans soon noticed that his iconic ponytail was invisible, which essentially translates to his long-haired phase ending after nearly three years.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh will next be seen in King, by Sujoy Ghosh. The film will also star his daughter, Suhana Khan, first on-screen collaboration of the duo.
