Fans have been discussing how having him on the side of an IPL club this year could have been advantageous, given his impressive performance in his Test debut for India. Sarfaraz’s decision to withdraw from the forthcoming Indian Premier League is disappointing.

In 2023, he was released from the Delhi Capitals team due to his lackluster play in the previous season. A few teams would wish they had him on their team given his current form. Which clubs, then, might have benefited from having him?

CSK: The Super Kings would have benefited from the acquisition of Sarfaraz, especially because MS Dhoni is probably going to play in his final IPL season. With his expertise playing in India, he may have helped CSK win matches by occupying a position in the top order.

RCB: He was once a member of the RCB team before being let go. That was more than ten years ago, but Sarfaraz is a whole different animal these days. The right-handed hitter would have given the batting lineup stability.
