Glenn Maxwell Perfect Virat Kohli Impression Behind RCB Siraj: Spot-On!
Royal Challengers Bengaluru is gearing up for a big season opener against the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings on May 1, 2024, and preparations are well underway in the team’s camp. The RCB franchise ended its first hold-up for the title earlier this month when the women’s side, led by Smriti Mandhana, lifted the Women’s Premier League title in Delhi. The men will now point to do a rehash and conclude the trophy-dry season in the IPL. This team, which boasts batting legends like Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Virat Kohli, is ebullient ahead of the first match in Chennai. A video that was posted by the official IPL account had Virat Kohli taking part in a net session. Maxwell, who was standing behind Kohli, attempted to emulate his shots and body language as the cricket player played.
RCB’s prospects for the upcoming season depend once again on the shoulders of its great players; their batting unit seems stronger than ever, with a fearsome roster that includes players like Du Plessis, Kohli, Maxwell, Cameron Green, Rajat Patidar, and Dinesh Karthik. However, their bowling attack doesn’t exude the same confidence. Before the IPL auction, the team parted ways with Josh Hazlewood and Wanindu Hasaranga, but it’s unclear if their replacements can step up to the plate. Lockie Ferguson, Reece Topley, Alzarri Joseph, and Akash Deep—who recently made his Test series debut for India against England—are among the overseas pacers in Mohammed Siraj’s bowling assault.

Kohli’s comeback
The T20I series against Afghanistan earlier in January is the last time Virat Kohli has participated in competitive play. He was supposed to play in the five-match Test series against England, but he chose to skip it so he could be with his wife Anushka Sharma after the birth of their second child, Akaay. Kohli joined the RCB team last week, amid much anticipation that he might be included in the T20 World Cup team. The forthcoming Indian Premier League season is of great significance as it provides a foundation for the selection of the team for the esteemed international competition. It is unclear, though, if Kohli must demonstrate his T20 prowess in the league in order to guarantee his spot in the team.
