On Saturday, MCU President Kevin Feige made the announcement of his casting at Comic-Con in San Diego. The director combo of Russo Brothers, who made Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, will also be returning, he stated. Two more Avengers sequels, Secret Wars and Doomsday, which will feature Robert’s Doom, are being directed by them when they return.

Casting sparks backlash

Robert is portraying the brand-new MCU character Victor Von Doom. In Avengers: Endgame, he lost his life as Iron Man. People on social media expressed confusion in response to the revelation; some pointed to the reemergence of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine as another example.

One person on X, the former Twitter platform, said, “Both of these scenes mean nothing now.” In response to the message, one person stated, “No, it’s not. Victor Von Doom and Tony Stanton are entirely distinct individuals. Logan’s Wolverine is not the same as the one we have today. Another person said, “Nope, those two characters are deceased. It’s just a variant.” We currently have options. Welcome to the realm of comic books as well.

A social media user expressed, “I understand that it’s a multiverse and all that, but Iron Man’s role as Doctor Doom has no bearing on the MCU in the current sense and does not advance the character in any way. It’s only for ticket sales. It doesn’t make sense, is monotonous, and disrespectful to my favorite. Afterwards. Another commented, saying, “I just feel like this and some people are trying to say the Robert Downey Doctor Doom casting is so stupid, it’s brilliant.” One person said, “That is the weirdest thing ever,” while another said, “I don’t even know how the mcu has completely reduced itself to cashgrabs and nostalgia with no sense of creativity has to be studied.”
