Tejashwi Yadav Dares Nitish Kumar: ‘Your Nephew Will Stop Narendra Modi’

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav threatened chief minister Nitish Kumar, saying he would halt Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP in the state, during a speech in the Bihar legislature on Monday before the floor test. Additionally, he mocked Kumar for abandoning the INDIA bloc and joining the BJP-led NDA, claiming that the founder of the Janata Dal (United) had taken an oath of office in a single term, three times as chief minister. During a speech in the Bihar assembly on Monday prior to the floor test, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav threatened Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, claiming he would stop Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP in the state. The founder of the Janata Dal (United) having taken an oath of office as chief minister three times in one term, he further criticized Kumar for leaving the INDIA bloc and joining the BJP-led NDA.In reference to socialist Nitish Kumar’s decision to join the BJP after leaving the Opposition alliance he himself founded, Yadav declared that “his nephew” would put an end to the BJP’s rampant growth.

We belong to the Samajwadi clan.”Tejashwi Yadav, your nephew, will carry the flag you raised to stop the BJP across the country and stop Modi in Bihar. Jo aap jhanda le kar ke chale the ki Modi ko desh mein rokne hain, ab aapka Bhateeja jhanda utha kar ke Modi ko Bihar mein rokne kaam karega.” In reference to the central government’s choice to honor socialist icon Karpoori Thakur with the Bharat Ratna, Yadav said that Kumar would receive the honour if he addressed the Mahagathbandhan. “I’m glad Karpoori Thakur received the Bharat Ratna.The BJP has negotiated an agreement for Bharat Ratna. If you cooperate with us, we’ll grant you Bharat Ratna,” he declared.

He took a jab at both leaders, referencing the incident in which Nitish Kumar lost his temper with Jitan Ram Manjhi during the Bihar assembly last year. “When Jitan Ram Manjhi expressed his opinions during the last session, the Chief Minister became irate. Manjhi Ji then stated that Nitish Kumar’s mental health wasn’t good and that he needed to be addressed. I now have complete faith that Manjhi Ji will provide quality medication,” he remarked. In the House of 243 members, the JD(U) has 45 MLAs, compared to the BJP’s 79 and the Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S)’s 4 current parliamentarians. In the House, the NDA has 128 MLAs compared to 115 Mahagathbandhan MLAs thanks to the backing of one additional Independent MLA.The ruling alliance needs 122 votes in the House to surpass the majority threshold.
