The serious accusations point toward involvement in illegal activities such as selling unclaimed bodies and financial bungling. These facts came to light after an inquiry conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and a statement by Akhtar Ali, a former deputy superintendent of the hospital.

The CBI has been investigating the act of Sandip Ghosh after the brutal rape and murder of a trainee doctor in the hospital seminar hall. Ali also accused Ghosh of extorting money from students to make them qualify in exams and taking a commission of 20% from every tender passed through the hospital.

The police formed a four-member Special Investigation Team to probe further into the allegations leveled against Ghosh, following which the police will immediately bring him for questioning. The CBI may subject Ghosh to a narco test since his earlier statements had discrepancies.
