RCB Unbox Event: Vinay Kumar Honored with RCB Hall of Fame Induction

The 40-year-old Vinay played for the RCB team for five seasons between the 2008 and 2013 IPL seasons. During his playing career, he represented Team India in 41 international matches.

On March 19, in front of a crowded M. Chinnaswamy audience, Kumar was given permission by the RCB management to pose with players like WPL 2024 champion Smriti Mandhana, experienced captain Virat Kohli, and Faf du Plessis.

RCB honored former Indian fast bowler Vinay Kumar for his services to the team during his playing career.

The Karnataka speedster, who participated in 70 IPL matches for RCB over five seasons, was inducted to the group’s “Hall of Fame” as the first Indian player and third overall, behind former cricket players AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.

Vinay Kumar’s RCB Legacy and Career Highlights

The 40-year-old was given souvenirs and had photos taken with a number of team executives and former players, including Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, during RCB’s Unbox 2024 event in Bengaluru on March 19.

Smriti Mandhana, the WPL-winning captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, also made an appearance at Kumar’s felicitation celebration.

Eighty of Vinay Kumar’s 105 IPL career wickets came while he was a member of the RCB team. With an average of 24.77, the right-arm bowler currently ranks third in RCB history for wicket-taking, only surpassed by the now-deported Yuzvendra Chahal (139 wickets) and Harshal Patel (99 wickets).
