Rajiv Thakur Clarifies Misconceptions About the Success of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix
Famous comedian Rajiv Thakur, who is mainly known for working with Kapil Sharma, recently came forward to clear illusions about the success of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. Thakur, for whom fame came with Comedy Circus and later with The Kapil Sharma Show, says in an interview to Telly Chakkar that his show, after making a lot of noise on television, had shifted to the OTT platform.
On being asked why the show seemed to perform better on television than it did on Netflix, Thakur dismissed such arguments as he went on to explain that the show did well on the streaming platform. He said, “People have some misconception that the show did not do well. Yes, everybody can see TV, but if it had not done well on Netflix, there would not have been a season two. Netflix is thorough and professional, and only deals in numbers.
Thakur further emphasized that The Great Indian Kapil Show brought a lot of subscribers to Netflix, which means it proved to be successful. He said he feels proud to note that to be able to transition such a loyal audience from TV to an OTT platform marks a testament to the show’s wide appeal.
