Rahul Gandhi’s Response to PM Modi’s ‘Appetizer’ Remarks: A ‘Main Course’ Rebuttal
In a playful jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congressman Rahul Gandhi said that the NDA government has caused unprecedented levels of inflation and unemployment in India, referencing his “appetizer” statements during an election rally. Some who have “tasted” these difficulties, according to Rahul Gandhi, will receive the “main course” in 2047. In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said that PM Modi was assuring those who have experienced “appetizers” like “back-breaking” inflation and “record-breaking” unemployment that he will offer the “main course” in 2047.
The attack by the Congress MP was a response to Modi’s recent remarks at rallies that the work he has done over the past ten years is only the “appetizer” and the “main course” is still to come. “Record-breaking unemployment, back-breaking inflation, farmers martyred due to debt burden and government repression, helpless laborers, tortured traders, the weakest rupee in history against the dollar, and the world’s biggest corruption ‘electoral bond’,” the former president of the Congress wrote in a Hindi post on X.
Rahul Gandhi went on to say on the social media site, “People who have tasted all these ‘appetizers’ are being told by Narendra Modi that he will serve the main course’ in 2047.” The Congress attacked Modi on Monday, saying that the purpose of the Lok Sabha election is to elect a strong and stable government, not to re-elect a “demagogue,” in response to his plea for doing so. The Congress further criticized Modi for saying in an interview with news agency ANI that the electoral bonds program “institutionalized corruption.”
The Congress leader, Manish Tewari, declared on Monday, “We were firm opponents of the implementation of electoral bonds in 2017 because of their lack of transparency. The decision by the Supreme Court has validated the electoral bond mechanism’s opaqueness. In this instance, it was unknown who was sending the money or who was taking it. The Supreme Court’s ruling has demonstrated that electoral bonds appear on one side and the ED and CBI on the other.

During his speech at a poll rally in Gaya, Bihar, on Tuesday, Modi attacked the Congress-led INDIA bloc, calling them the “Ghamandiya Ganthbandhan” and accusing them of claiming credit for the job that their party has done. “Ghamandia Gathbandhan” lacks vision and trust, the prime minister declared in Bihar. Consider the work that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has done when they continue to ask for votes. Bihar as a whole is aware of their attempts to claim credit for the job done by Nitish Ji and the federal government.”
