Rahul Gandhi Demands Gautam Adani’s Arrest After US Indictment on Corruption Charges
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, asked on Thursday that Gautam Adani be arrested immediately and that SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, his “protector,” be looked into. Speaking to the media, Gandhi said that new information supports his long-standing charges against the multibillionaire businessman. “It is now fairly obvious and established in America that Mr. Adani has violated both Indian and American law,” he added. I want to know why Mr. Adani is still operating freely in this nation after being charged in the United States.
Gandhi also restated his allegations that the Prime Minister had conspired to protect Adani. “The prime minister is complicit in corruption with Mr. Adani and is shielding him. This is being made very evident,” he continued. The comments were made in response to US authorities accusing Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani of bribing Indian government officials with more than $250 million in order to get solar energy contracts. Gandhi stressed that the accusations are consistent with the issues he has been voicing time and time again, especially with Madhabi Puri Buch’s function in supervising regulatory affairs.
