Rahul Gandhi Claims ‘Way Blocked’ After BJP MP Injured in Heated Parliament Showdown

“Rahul Gandhi Claims ‘Way Blocked’ After BJP MP Injured in Heated Parliament Showdown”

Rahul Gandhi vehemently disputed claims made by BJP MP Pratap Chandra Sarangi that he was unintentionally hurt in a fight at the Makar Dawar entrance of Parliament on Thursday morning. Speaking to the media, Gandhi denied Sarangi’s account of what happened, saying that several BJP MPs had shoved him and threatened him, not the other way around. Gandhi further acknowledged that during the incident, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge had been threatened by BJP MPs.

“I Was Pushed, Threatened by BJP MPs”

Gandhi clarified that when BJP MPs attempted to obstruct his progress by physically pushing him away and threatening him, he was only attempting to join Parliament. Gandhi said, “Yes, it happened with Mr. Kharge too,” to a reporter’s query, “but we are not intimidated by this jostling.” We have every right to be here since this is Parliament.

Sarangi’s Injury and Hospitalization

Sarangi, a BJP MP who was allegedly harmed in the altercation, said he was shoved by a third party by mistake and fell on him, injuring his head. Gandhi allegedly shoved this individual, forcing him to fall and hurt his head, according to Sarangi. During the ambulance ride to the hospital, the injured MP was spotted sitting in a wheelchair and receiving medical attention from a professional who had a bandage on his head.

Protests Outside Parliament Amid Ambedkar Controversy

Home Minister Amit Shah’s divisive comments regarding Dr. BR Ambedkar sparked a new round of rallies and counterprotests outside Parliament, which coincided with this occurrence. When Shah said during a two-day discussion on the Constitution, “It has become the fashion to say ‘Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar…’” the opposition, especially Congress, reacted angrily.
