Punjab Police Arrests Key Suspect in Chandigarh Blast Case
A day after the Chandigarh blast, the Punjab Police arrested one of the two suspects with the help of a central agency. Rohan Masih, the suspect belongs to Passia village in Amritsar Rural. During the arrest, authorities recovered a 9MM Glock pistol along with ammunition.
On X, in a statement to the police, spokesperson Yadav confirmed that “The main perpetrator of the Chandigarh Grenade Blast case has been arrested in a joint operation with a central agency.

The arrest comes a day after a low-intensity explosion ripped through a house in the posh Sector 10 of Chandigarh on Wednesday evening.
It belonged to one K.K. Malhotra, a retired principal from Himachal Pradesh, who was targeted with what initial reports referred to as a grenade attack.
The incident took place around 5:30 PM when police launched an in-depth probe into the episode.
Police had announced a prize of ₹2 lakh leading to information on the arrest of suspects. The explosion and the auto-rickshaw suspected to have been used by the assailants to carry out the attack were captured by the CCTV cameras.

The driver of the autorickshaw hired from Sector 43 by the suspects, has also been taken into custody for interrogation.
How much truth was in the grenade claim is not clear yet, and police are continuing to try to find the second suspect.
