On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi will speak at a polling place in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, the PM will share the dais alongside BJP candidate Arun Govil, who gained notoriety from the TV serial “Ramayan,” and Rashtriya Lok Dal president Jayant Chaudhary, who recently joined the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
Seven phases of the general elections are scheduled to take place between April 19 and June 1. The list of candidates from several political parties running in the biggest democratic election in history has been made public. Nominations for a number of candidates have also been submitted. To win over voters, political campaigns have been launched.
The 543-member Lower House of the Indian Parliament will have MPs chosen in the next Lok Sabha elections of 2024.
