PM Modi’s Aircraft Faces Technical Snag in Jharkhand’s Deoghar, Delays Return to Delhi

A mechanical issue with his aircraft in the Deogarh region of Jharkhand caused a minor delay in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s return to Delhi on Friday. In the morning, the Prime Minister took part in the celebrations of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas in Jamui, Bihar, which commemorated the 150th anniversary of the birth of tribal chieftain Birsa Munda.

Honoring Tribal Icon Birsa Munda

PM Modi honored Birsa Munda at the ceremony, performed a traditional dance with tribal artists, and demonstrated his prowess on the dhol, a traditional drum. In recognition of his services to India’s tribal community, he was presented with an idol of Birsa Munda.

Unveiling Development Projects

₹6,640 crore worth of advancement projects, including ones to work on ancestral government assistance, were sent off by the top prime minister. Moreover, he gave a postage stamp and a memorial coin respecting the ancestral figure.

Tribal Welfare Initiatives

Highlighting his government’s focus on tribal development, PM Modi said:

  • “Under the NDA government, the budget for tribal welfare has increased fivefold, from less than ₹25,000 crore a decade ago to ₹1.25 lakh crore today.”
  • He introduced the Dharti Aaba, Janjatiya Gram, Utkarsh Abhiyan, a scheme allocating ₹80,000 crore for the development of over 60,000 tribal villages.

Bridging Tradition and Technology

Since about 1 crore people from all over India were taking part in the celebrations through technology, the prime minister underlined the significance of fusing tribal history with contemporary initiatives.

Remembering Tribal Heroes

At the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas last year, PM Modi described his outing to Ulihatu, the origin of Birsa Munda. He likewise underlined the need to regard ancestral pioneers’ commitments to India’s set of experiences and honored the fearlessness of Tilka Manjhi, another incredible ancestral person.
