PM Modi Slams Congress for Exploiting States as ‘ATMs’ in Akola Rally, Promotes ‘Ek Hai To Safe Hai’ Unity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honed his campaign ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections on Saturday by aiming for the Congress at a rally in Akola. “Anywhere there is a Congress government, that state becomes an ATM for the shahi parivar’ (royal family) of Congress,” he said, accusing Congress of utilizing the states it controls as funding sources. Maharashtra cannot be allowed to serve as the Congress’s ATM. Modi also questioned Congress’s adherence to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s legacy, asking them to show that they value Ambedkar’s accomplishments. He referred to several locations connected to Ambedkar, including his birthplace in Mhow, Deeksha Bhoomi in Nagpur, and Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai, saying, “I challenge the shahi parivar of the Congress to prove if they ever visited Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s panchteerth.”

In an act of solidarity, Modi commended Haryana’s resistance to the Congress’s “divisive politics,” saying, “The people of Haryana thwarted the Congress’s plot by adhering to the motto ‘Ek hai to safe hai’ (we are safe if we are united).” “Congress’s policy pits one caste against another; it thrives only when the country is weakened,” he continued. Modi also criticized Maharashtra’s opposition party, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), saying the alliance is tainted by “corruption and scams of thousands of crores.”During his first two stints as prime minister, Modi highlighted the achievements of his government by stating, “I have provided four crore pucca houses for the poor.”

Invoking Maharashtra to back the BJP-led Mahayuti (grand coalition), Modi recognized the importance of November 9th, which marks the anniversary of the 2019 Supreme Court ruling ruling on the Ram Temple. “People of every religion showed great sensitivity after the Supreme Court’s decision, which is why this date will be remembered,” he said. In his closing remarks, Modi expressed gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for their support of the BJP, citing their “patriotism, political understanding, and vision.”
