Nazim, a Viksit Bharat program beneficiary, spoke with Prime Minister Modi at the Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir event. During the conversation, Pulwama’s Nazim talked about how he began his career as an entrepreneur in 2018 while still in the tenth grade, specializing in honey sales. Nazim informed Prime Minister Modi that everything began with his two bee cages, which were stored on the roof. He began doing internet study on beekeeping as his interest in it grew. “I approached the government in 2019 and received a 50% subsidy for 25 boxes of bees.

I removed 75 kilograms of honey. I began selling honey in villages, making ₹60,000 in the process. It increased from 25 to 200 boxes, at which point I enlisted the assistance of PMEGP (Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme). I began my website in 2020 and received ₹5 lakh under that plan, said Nazim. Following the initial recognition of his brand, Nazim reported selling 5,000 kg of honey in 2023. According to Nazim, he currently employs at least 100 individuals, and his business has FPO (Follow ON Public Offers).

As they conversed at the function, Prime Minister Narendra Modi enquired about his childhood ambitions. According to Nazim, his parents wanted him to become an engineer or a doctor, but he had other ideas. “Your potential was acknowledged by your family. You had the option to pursue a career in medicine, but you chose not to. You spearheaded Kashmir’s delightful revolution by doing that. Many, many congrats,” Prime Minister Modi stated. This industry is entirely new. since bees are also useful in farming. So, PM Modi replied, ‘Your work helps other farmers.

I advise anyone who wishes to launch a business to start small since nothing can stop you. Success cannot be attained quickly. You will require a lot of effort. There weren’t many government schemes when I first started, but today there are a ton of them, Nazim remarked. “The prime minister questioned me and inquired about my journey. Then I asked him to take a selfie, and it was such a happy moment when the honorable prime minister consented, said Nazim.
