PM Modi Calls Out Congress for Misguiding Jammu and Kashmir on Article 370 in Srinagar Speech
Addressing a public rally in Srinagar’s Bakshi stadium on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at the opposition, particularly the Congress, alleging that certain families were misleading not just the people of Jammu and Kashmir but the entire country on the now-abrogated Article 370. On August 5, 2019, the Center, led by Prime Minister Modi, revoked the terms of Article 370 and divided the former state into the Union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. For many years, the Congress and its allies used the guise of Article 370 to deceive the people of Jammu and Kashmir to further their political goals. Now the people in the area know the truth about whether or not Article 370 benefited Jammu and Kashmir, or if it was only used by a few households. According to Modi, the genius of Jammu and Kashmir is now being acknowledged, as Article 370 has been lifted.
In addition to launching numerous development projects worth over ₹6,400 crore, Modi traveled to Srinagar to participate in a public forum. This is Modi’s first visit to the Kashmir valley since August 2019, when Article 370 was repealed. At the “Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir” event held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, Modi made a number of announcements about initiatives about tourism and agriculture. In the stadium, Modi unveiled several development projects worth over ₹6,400 crore during “Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu Kashmir.”

There are no words to describe the feeling of reaching this heaven on earth. Jammu & Kashmir used to be prohibited from enacting laws that were implemented in other parts of the country. There was a time when national programs for the poor’s welfare were put into place, but the advantages were not extended to our brothers and sisters in Jammu and Kashmir. And look at how the times have changed now,” Modi remarked to the audience. According to them, barricades have been erected at several locations and a significant number of security officers have been stationed along Modi’s planned routes through Srinagar. In addition, the prime minister unveiled 43 initiatives aimed at advancing several tourism and pilgrimage destinations throughout the nation. Moreover, he introduced ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice 2024,’ the first-ever nationwide campaign to determine the tourist industry’s pulse.
