IPL 2024: Pat Cummins to captain Sunrisers Hyderabad
Pat Cummins was declared the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain for the 2024 Indian Chief Association (IPL), supplanting Aiden Markram.
It’ll be the first time Cummins will be captaining a side within the IPL and reuniting with Daniel Vettori, the modern SRH head coach, who also works as a right-hand coach for Australia.

Cummins was bought by SRH for INR 20.5 crore at the IPL sell-off in Dubai final year. He also gets to be the second Australian to be SRH’s captain after individual countrymate David Warner, who led the establishment in 67 matches from 2015 to 2021.

Cummins has previously been a portion of the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders within the IPL. The Australian had won the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) and the Men’s ODI World Glass as captain. SRH were captained by Aiden Markram within the past two seasons but didn’t pick up any significant success. Markram, even though they effectively drove SunRisers Eastern Cape, a sister group of the SRH establishment, to the trophy within the first two seasons of the SA20.
