Showtime Trailer: Karan Johar Explores Nepotism in Bollywood in New Film
The trailer for the film Showtime, starring Mouni Roy and Emraan Hashmi, has been released. Showtime, which is being directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, is being billed as a “epic saga of legacy and ambition in the world of cinema,” offering viewers an inside peek at the multimillion dollar Bollywood industry, power conflicts at the top, and nepotism.
What’s in the trailer?
Karan Johar posted the Showtime trailer on his Instagram page. Emraan appears to be portraying a powerful movie producer in the clip. Mahima Makwana portrays the reporter, who is heard on TV talking about things like nepotism. Rajeev Khandelwal portrays a Bollywood celebrity who appears to be intoxicated by his notoriety. Inspired by singer Armaan Malik, he has a devoted fan base known as Armanians, and he declines to sign a movie that features Emraan’s persona. The trailer concludes with Emraan yelling expletives outside Rajeev’s bungalow.

The show’s executive producers are Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, Mihir Desai, and Karan Johar. “Being in the industry for so long, I have seen both the good and bad side of it, so when this show came to me, I grabbed the opportunity to be a part of it and could resonate with it on various levels,” Emraan said in a statement earlier, expressing his excitement for Showtime. He stated that the audience is eager to learn more about what happens in Bollywood’s back offices and “let me just say – we have heard you all! Prepare to delve deeply into Bollywood’s stories!”
