Odia Actor’s Controversial Post Claims Rahul Gandhi is Lawrence Bishnoi’s Next Target
Actor Buddhaditya Mohanty of Odia has sparked a political scandal on social media by making a controversial post about mobster Lawrence Bishnoi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Mohanty implied in his since-deleted remark that Rahul Gandhi and AIMIM chairman Asaduddin Owaisi would be among Bishnoi’s “next targets.”
“Germany had the Gestapo,” he wrote. Mossad is in Israel. The CIA is in the USA. Lawrence Bishnoi is now in India. Owaisi and Rahul Gandhi ought to be on the list after them. The huge outcry this statement generated led to a police complaint against him from the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student arm of the Congress party.
The complaint was submitted at the Capital police station by Udit Pradhan, the head of the state NSUI, who demanded that Mohanty be held responsible for his offensive remarks. Pradhan underlined, “Mohanty stated in the social media post that Congress MP Rahul Gandhi should be the next target of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi after he killed NCP politician Baba Siddique. Such a statement against our leader is intolerable. Authorities are currently looking into the case after the NSUI sent them a screenshot of the contentious post.
After receiving criticism, Mohanty eventually apologized in public, saying he never meant to disparage Rahul Gandhi. He said, “I never intended to single out, hurt, or disparage Rahul Gandhiji in any manner in my previous post on him. Inadvertently affecting someone’s feelings—this was not my objective. I really apologize for this.

This comes after Baba Siddique, a three-time MLA and leader of the NCP, was recently assassinated by armed attackers purportedly affiliated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. After being attacked in Bandra and receiving three gunshot wounds, Siddique was taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, where he passed away on October 12. After his death, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took credit, saying they targeted Siddique because of his close relationship with Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his alleged ties to don Dawood Ibrahim.
