Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu Drop Big Hints on Backing Narendra Modi 3.0: What Does This Mean for Indian Politics?
Chief of the Janata Dal (United) Nitish Kumar and leader of the Telugu Desam Party N Chandrababu Naidu—dubbed the “kingmakers” by pundits following the BJP’s poor showing in the Lok Sabha elections—have made strong insinuations that they will back Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bid to form his third government at the Centre.
The government will be established, announced Nitish Kumar upon his arrival in the nation’s capital to attend a meeting of the National Democratic Alliance. He uttered the words “Sarkar toh ab banegi hi,” in Hindi. JDU leader KC Tyagi, a close confidant of Kumar’s, stated that the former will adamantly back the BJP-led government.
This is merely the spread of rumors. Under the direction of PM Modi, we are members of the NDA and have run for office. According to JD(U) leader KC Tyagi, Nitish Kumar is in Delhi and will present the letter in which JD(U) has suggested Narendra Modi as PM.Prior to departing for Delhi, N Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the TDP, declared his affiliation with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
“You’re constantly in the mood for news. Having witnessed multiple political shifts in our nation, I possess extensive experience. I will be attending the NDA meeting; we are in the NDA. We will cover it eventually,” he informed the press. 240 Lok Sabha seats were gained by the BJP, falling 32 seats shy of the majority needed. Its allies’ assistance will now be necessary for the party to enter government, as it had hoped to gain between 350 and 400 seats.
Contrarily, the INDIA bloc outperformed predictions. The opposition coalition won almost 230 seats, defying exit polls that predicted its defeat. According to reports, the INDIA bloc has reached out to the BJP’s allies as the gap between the two groups has shrunk. Leader of the Shiv Sena (UBT), Sanjay Raut, stated that Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar will not support an autocracy. The party unexpectedly won nine Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. “They must choose between working under a democratic society and supporting a tyrant. They won’t choose an autocrat, in my opinion,” Raut said.
