Nathan Anderson Reaffirms Confidence in Hindenburg’s Adani Report

Nathan Anderson, founder of Hindenburg Research, has reaffirmed his commitment to the firm’s investigative work, particularly the January 2023 report that accused the Adani Group of “the largest con in corporate history.”. Despite announcing the closure of Hindenburg Research, Anderson emphasized that the decision was not due to any external threats or legal pressures. He has unflinchingly stood behind all of the firm’s reports, including the report aimed at the Adani Group.
The January 2023 report alleged that the Adani Group engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud, leading to significant financial scrutiny. The Adani Group has consistently denied these allegations.
Dealing with conspiracy theories that in some way attempt to involve the Hindenburg with OCCRP and financial (George) Soros, Anderson ruled them to be factually invalid. He explained that Hindenburg has a policy not to deal with such “naive” conspiracy theories and that they consider such stories as a way to deflect focus from the evidence contained in their reports.
Regarding his decision to retire and shut down Hindenburg Research, Anderson also mentioned the exhausting pressure behind the job as a key reason. He stated that he wished to spend more time with his family and his friends, and that his absence was not due to any external threat or health concern.
In the nutshell, Nathan Anderson stands undeterred on the Hindenburg Research’s findings, especially on Adani Group. He is still promoting market openness and strong corporate governance as core elements of India’s future development.
