High Court Grants Stay on N-Convention Demolition After Nagarjuna Akkineni’s Appeal

In the early hours of Saturday, August 24, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency demolished N-Convention, the convention center of actor Nagarjuna Akkineni. Nagarjuna termed the demolition as ‘illegal’ and moved court; the Telangana High Court then issued a stay order.

Legal Battle Ensues

Nagarjuna’s team now announced that the Telangana High Court has come forward and ordered a stop on further demolition of N-Convention. They revealed in the statement, “The HC has granted a stay on the demolition of structures owned by Nagarjuna, including N-Convention.

The actor approached the court seeking this stay. Justice T Vinod Kumar has issued an interim order halting the demolition process.”.

He publicly vented out his anger against the demolition on X. “I am pained by the judicial demolition of N-Convention done in spite of stay orders and cases pending in various courts,” Nagarjuna reacted. He added that he had not violated any laws and sought to guard against his reputation being maligned.

Nagarjuna explained that the convention center was built on ‘patta land’ and claimed that it did not encroach upon the nearby tank. “There was a stay order against previous illegal demolition notices.

Today’s demolition was conducted based on misinformation,” he said. He also criticised the authorities for not issuing any prior notice before the demolition. “As a law-abiding citizen, I would have complied with the court’s decision had it gone against me,” he added.

Details of the Incident

N-Convention, managed by N3 Enterprises and co-owned by Nagarjuna and Nalla Preetham, had its structure largely demolished by 11 a.m. on Saturday.
