Musheer Khan Embraces Opportunity to Understand T20 with Positive Outlook Despite Missing IPL

Cricketers’ greatest desire may be to play in the IPL, but Mumbai’s teenage Ranji Trophy hero Musheer Khan is glad he wasn’t selected in the player auction of the previous year since it will allow him more time to “understand” the T20 format.
After surpassing the record set by the great Sachin Tendulkar to become the youngest Mumbai batter to score a century in a Ranji final, the 19-year-old was optimistic that he would eventually leave his imprint in the IPL.

“IPL does not contain my name. I’m not disappointed, though. I should play for Team India in Test cricket, according to my father. Invoking the teachings of his father and influential coach Naushad, Musheer told PTI Video that “IPL will happen eventually, if not today, then tomorrow.” “I’m glad I have an extra year to get ready for the IPL. Musheer, who has only participated in five First-Class games thus far, stated, “I will comprehend T20 cricket more and how I should prepare for this format.”

Musheer made history against Vidarbha in the Ranji final recently, scoring 136 in the second innings to aid Mumbai in setting a formidable 538. In the end, it assisted Mumbai in winning their 42nd Ranji Trophy title, breaking all previous records. Musheer naturally looked up to his older brother Sarfaraz, who debuted for India in the third Test match against England at Rajkot earlier this month.

Musheer Khan Inspired by Brother, Reflects on Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy Victory

“My brother inspires me greatly with his commitment and style of batting. We bat similarly to each other. Before the game, he advised me to not put too much pressure on myself and to view it as a typical match.” “We feel pressure on the pitch, even though it may appear from the outside to be a routine contest. “It told me to trust my abilities and go by the procedure,” he continued.

Following Mumbai’s eight-year victory in the Ranji Trophy, Musheer, who was also the top run scorer in the ICC Under-19 World Cup earlier this year with two hundreds, was ecstatic.

“We should be proud of the 42 titles we have collected. Here have played several outstanding players. I’m overjoyed to have represented Mumbai and taken home a title.”In addition, I would like to congratulate and thank the Mumbai Cricket Association for all of their help and support. I hope people still support us in the same manner,” he remarked.

After the Ranji Trophy final, experienced bowler Dhawal Kulkarni announced his retirement. The graceful right-hander praised him. “It is amazing what he has done for Mumbai and the support he has provided to Mumbai cricket. His pre-final speech served as a genuine source of inspiration for all of us.
