Mumbai Airport on High Alert After Bomb Threat; CISF Notified of Passenger with Explosives
On Wednesday afternoon, an unknown caller threatened to attack Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. When airport security staff received a tip that a possible traveler was packing explosives, they responded right away. According to sources, the worrisome call was received by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) control center at Terminal 1 (domestic). The caller stated that a guy named Muhammad was carrying explosive materials from Mumbai to Azerbaijan.
Following CISF teams’ immediate notification to Sahar Police Station, police officials were quickly sent to the airport to conduct more investigation. Even though the caller abruptly ended the call at 3 PM without providing any flight information, officials are aggressively tracking down the caller and conducting a thorough investigation to guarantee safety. Due to precautionary concerns, police have reviewed passenger information and strengthened security procedures around the airport. This latest danger joins a string of false bomb warnings that have affected Indian airlines in the past few weeks.

A 35-year-old guy from Gondia, Maharashtra named Jagdish Uikey had been arrested by Nagpur Police about two weeks earlier for allegedly making multiple false bomb threats. After tracking down several bogus emails connected to Uikey, the Special Branch was able to identify the author of a book about terrorism and a former suspect in a 2021 case. Prior to this, his efforts had increased airport and other location security, generated fear, and delayed flights.
