Reports claiming that Ranveer Singh was being considered for the part of Shaktimaan were recently clarified by veteran actor Mukesh Khanna. After first refuting the claims, Mukesh has now revealed the causes of his reluctance. He attributed a large portion of his choice to Ranveer’s contentious nude photoshoot in an interview with Bollywood Thikana.

In his detailed account of their meeting, Mukesh gave his reasons for feeling that Ranveer was not the ideal choice for Shaktimaan. “I try not to criticize actors directly, but it’s no secret that Ranveer Singh and I met,” he said. I even commended his enthusiasm and dubbed him a “terrific actor.” On social media, false rumors circulated rapidly, claiming he had been cast, which was inaccurate. Because of my deal with Sony, I had to make it clear in a video that no actor had been confirmed and that the decision would take time.

Mukesh said, “Ranveer sat with me for three hours, but something was missing in his demeanor.” This was his reflection on the meeting. He lacked the essence required to play Shaktimaan. His energy and talent as an actor are unsurpassed, yet his temperament seemed too unstable for the part. Another major factor in my dislike was the naked photo shoot he performed for Dirty Magazine. I thought to myself, “What are you doing, man?” when I saw that.
