Mitchell Starc: Kolkata Knight Riders’ X-Factor for IPL 2024- Gautam Gambhir

Gautam Gambhir, the coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders, has stated that Mitchell Starc will be a key player for the two-time winners in the upcoming IPL 2024 season.

Starc, who will play in the IPL for the first time in nine years, was acquired by KKR for an incredible 24.75 crores following a heated bidding battle with the Gujarat Titans. The left-arm pacer was originally acquired by KKR for 9.4 crore rupees during the 2018 auction.
Speaking shortly after arriving in Kolkata on Thursday ahead of the upcoming season, Gambhir stated that Starc won’t be under any more pressure due to the price tag.

“I don’t believe the cost will put him under any more strain. Gambhir stated, “My only hope is that he can do for KKR what he does for Australia in international cricket.” Starc was a left-arm bowler for the Royal Challengers Bangalore who amassed 34 wickets in the two seasons before to his IPL break.

Gautam Gambhir’s Emotional Return to Kolkata Knight Riders Ahead of IPL 2024 Season

On Thursday, ahead of the upcoming season, Gambhir made his emotional return to the team as an opener. Gambhir chose to join KKR after serving as LSG’s mentor for the previous two seasons.

Speaking after arriving in Kolkata, Gambhir expressed his happiness at rejoining the team and stated that KKR has always been an emotion for him. Gambhir stated that he is conscious of the standards and that he intends to meet them. “I’ve always said that KKR is an emotion to me rather than a business. Thus, I’m glad to be back.

“I hope to live up to the expectations and make the fans happy,” stated Gambhir. “I know there will be expectations.” On March 23, KKR will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at Eden Gardens to start their season. The initial part of the IPL 2024 season will only see them play three games.
