Meta Unveils Highly Capable Llama 3 AI Model

The newest generation of large language models (LLMs) in the AI era, called Llama 3, was unveiled by Meta on Thursday. The business released the first two widely usable models of the upcoming Llama generation. “Our commitment is to create Llama 3 ethically, and we provide a range of tools to support others in using it responsibly,” the business stated.

Soon, Llama 3 models with support for hardware platforms from AMD, AWS, Dell, Intel, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm will be available on AWS, Databricks, Google Cloud, IBM Watson, Microsoft Azure, and Nvidia NIM and Snowflake. Meta stated, “We expect to share the Llama 3 research paper and introduce new capabilities, longer context windows, additional model sizes, and improved performance in the coming months.”

The Llama 3 collection of models begins with the text-based models that are being made available. Shortly, Llama 3 will be bilingual and multimodal, have a longer context, and continue to perform better overall, according to Meta. Meta AI can be used online, on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and other platforms to learn, create, and do tasks. “Our Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses will soon allow you to test multimodal Meta AI,” the business announced.
