Meta Introduces Enhanced Event Organization for WhatsApp Communities
Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO and founder of Meta, unveiled new capabilities for WhatsApp Communities and its groups on Wednesday. It’s now simpler to meet together in person and virtually as groups inside of WhatsApp Communities may arrange events. Additionally, he said that in order to provide admins with member input, users can now respond to announcements made by admins in Community Announcement groups.
In a statement posted on his WhatsApp account, Mark Zuckerberg said, “If you’re in a WhatsApp Community, you can now create events in your groups and reply to admin announcements.” According to him, “More groups will be able to create events over the next few months.” WhatsApp users can now plan their get-togethers, such as virtual meetings or birthday dinners, with ease thanks to events. To let the group know who is attending, anyone can organize an event and invite others to react.

According to the company, events will initially be available to organizations that are part of a community before becoming available to all groups in the upcoming months. Additionally, the firm stated that while “keeping these groups an easy place to catch up on what’s happening in your Community,” introducing answers to Announcement Groups will enable admins to hear from their members. Notifications are muted for everyone, and replies are gathered together and minimized so users can see what others have said in context. The internet giant will continue to add new features to Communities and groups over the coming months, giving users more resources to help them stay organized on WhatsApp.
