In a Significant breakthrough in the war against Maoist terrorist activities in Chhattisgarh, security forces have neutralized one of the top most wanted Maoist leader and an explosives expert, Mohan Kadti. Mohan Kadti belonged to a top echelon explosives technician back-up within the Maolist ranks. He was responsible for planning a series of violent assaults-landmine blast and ambush against insurgent-protected security units-in the insurgency zone of Bastar.

The encounter took place after an intelligence based operation and is a big triumph for the security personnel in their ongoing struggle against Maoist activities in the region.

As per the Bastar Inspector General of Police, Sundarraj P., the encounter happened during a joint operation of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The security forces carried out the operation on the basis of some inputs about the presence of the cadres of the Maoist party in the region.

During the operation, an exchange of fire ensued, leading to Kadti’s death. Security personnel say that the evidence at the site of the confrontation included weapons, ammunition, and explosives indicating the significance of Kadti within the framework of the Maoist network.
