2nd bronze for Manu Bhaker at Paris Olympics
In the women’s 10m air pistol event at the same location, Manu Bhaker had won the bronze medal previously. Although Norman Pritchard, a British-Indian athlete, achieved his feat prior to independence, he had won two silver medals in the 200-meter sprint and 200-meter hurdle events at the 1900 Olympics. Each team member had 30 minutes to shoot 30 shots in the qualification round of the mixed team 10-meter air pistol competition. Ten shots each player, for a total of twenty, make up each series of shots. In order to compete for gold, the top two teams advanced to the medal rounds, while the third and fourth-place teams faced off for bronze.
