Paris Olympics 2024: Manu Bhaker Finishes 4th in 25m Air Pistol Women’s Final
On Saturday, Manu Bhaker of India was not able to secure a third medal in the Paris Olympics 2024. The 22-year-old Indian shooter finished fourth in the 25-meter Air Pistol women’s singles event after a shoot-off with an aggregate score of 28 points.
She had previously won two bronze medals in the 10-meter Air Pistol singles and mixed-team competitions. Bhaker had two medals in her possession when her Olympic odyssey came to an end.
Bhaker put on a strong performance earlier on Friday, accumulating 590 to finish second in the qualifier behind Veronika Major of Hungary. She fired 294 in the demanding accuracy round with scores of 97, 98, and 99, demonstrating her unbeatable performance in the sports pistol qualification rounds. She was at her best in the quick round, shooting a flawless 100 and two 98s for a total of 296.

Bhaker’s outstanding achievement in this competition follows a disastrous campaign in the Tokyo Games of 2021, where a malfunctioning pistol prevented her from realizing her Olympic dream. In the meantime, Manu has won two medals and Swapnil Kusale has taken home the bronze in the 50-meter rifle three-positions on Thursday, giving India a three-peat in shooting.
