Man Murders Delivery Boy After Ordering iPhone with Cash on Delivery Option

According to police reports on Monday, September 30, 2024, a 30-year-old delivery worker was allegedly murdered in a tragic occurrence while delivering an iPhone to a customer who was scheduled to pay ₹1.5 lakh for the item.

The customer, Gajanan, and an accomplice are said to have slain the victim, Bharat Sahu, of Nishatganj. Sahu’s body was thrown into the Indira Canal by the accused criminals after the claimed crime. To find the body, a team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been sent out.

Gajanan, a resident of Chinhat, ordered the iPhone from Flipkart and chose the cash-on-delivery (COD) payment option, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh. On September 23, Sahu delivered the delivery to Gajanan’s location, where he was allegedly murdered before being thrown in a bag and disposed of in the canal.

On September 25, Sahu’s family went to the Chinhat police station to submit a missing persons complaint after he did not come home for two days. Police looked through Sahu’s phone history and last known location during the investigation; this helped them find Gajanan’s number and, eventually, his friend Akash.
