Malaika Arora’s Father Turned Off Phone Before Death, Told Her ‘I Am Sick and Tired

A day after the tragic death of Malaika Arora’s stepfather, Anil Mehta, new details have surfaced about his last moments. According to sources, Mehta had made a final phone call to his daughters- Malaika and Amrita Arora, hours before his death.

During the call, he had sounded distressed and said, “I am sick and tired.” The sisters shared this with the police while recording their statements.

Over the phone, he said that, and then other family members tried to call him, but his mobile had already been switched off. Now, police will find out why he had said so. They will record statements of Mehta’s doctor also to gather more information in the case.

Anil Mehta on Wednesday morning allegedly committed suicide. Sources said Mehta jumped from the balcony of his building due to which both his legs were badly injured and his right leg was fractured.

Malaika’s mother, Joyce, who had resumed staying with her ex-husband for the past few years, also gave her statement to the police. She said it was a part of Mehta’s daily schedule to sit in the balcony and read the newspaper every morning.

She said that on the day of the incident, she grew suspicious when she found his slipper in the living room but couldn’t find him on the balcony. On stepping out on the balcony, she saw the watchman of the building shouting for help.

Contrary to speculation, Joyce explained that Mehta was not ill with any critical ailment, except for minor knee pain. He had recently taken premature retirement from the Merchant Navy.

Following the tragedy, Malaika took to social media with a request to let the family privacy. “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father Anil Mehta.

Police were still investigating the death of Anil Mehta.
