FIR Filed After ₹50 Lakh Worth of Lights Stolen from Ayodhya’s Ram Path and Bhakti Path
In the famous temple town of Ayodhya, the word is out with regard to a major theft of bamboo and projector lights. According to these reports, on August 9, as many as 3,800 bamboo lights and 36 gobo projector lights, which were estimated to have a value of more than ₹50 lakh, were stolen from Ram Path and Bhakti Path. The police reported an incident upon a contractor’s complaint.
Yash Enterprises and Krishna Automobiles installed those lights as part of a contract with the Ayodhya Development Authority. The authorities had initially placed 6,400 bamboo lights and 96 gobo projector lights along Ram Path and Bhakti Path. But during inspection on May 9, it was found that a large number of lights had gone missing.
Shekhar Sharma, the representative of the firm, has claimed in the complaint, “The lights were intact till March 19. It was only after the May inspection that the theft was noticed.” Though the firm had come to know about the missing lights in May, it lodged the FIR on August 9.
